Send your first invoice
Invoices in Soap Notes take their line items from your services, so the price and description are already right and there is nothing to retype. Once an invoice exists you can send it, generate a payment link for it, and track what has actually been settled against what has only been billed.
How to do it
- 1
Open Finance, then Invoices, and create one
Pick the client. If you came from a client's own record, they are already filled in.
- 2
Add line items from your services
Each line takes its description and price from the service, and you can adjust either on the invoice without changing the service itself.
- 3
Apply tax if you charge it
Rates you have set up appear as options here rather than being applied to everything by default.
- 4
Send it, or generate a payment link
The payment link opens a page your client can pay on without a Soap Notes login.
Getting paid by card
Taking card payments needs Stripe connected, which is on the Teams plan. Without it you can still issue and track invoices; you are settling them by transfer or in person rather than through the link.
