Create a bookable event type

Open in Soap NotesScheduling › EventsStandard plan and above

An event type is the thing a client actually chooses when they open your booking link: which session it is, how long it runs, and what it costs. Availability decides when you can be booked; an event type decides what for. You need at least one before your booking page has anything to show.

How to do it

  1. 1

Open Scheduling, then Events, and create one

Name it the way a client would describe it, not the way your notes do. Initial consultation reads better than IA-1.

  2. 2

    Point it at a service

The service supplies the duration and the price, so you are not maintaining the same numbers twice.

  3. 3

    Check the reminders

New event types open with reminder emails already set up. Leave them unless you have a reason not to; they are the cheapest no-show reduction available.

  4. 4

Publish it and copy the link

Each event type has its own URL you can send directly, as well as appearing on your main booking page.

One event type or several

Start with one. A booking page offering a single obvious choice converts better than one offering seven, and you can add the others once you know which sessions people actually ask for.

Questions

Can different event types have different working hours?
Yes. Availability is set per event type, so a Saturday-only assessment slot does not have to open up your whole week.
