Add your clients

Open in Soap NotesClients › Contacts

Everything in Soap Notes hangs off a client record: their bookings, their notes, their invoices and their documents. If you are moving from another system, importing the list is the first thing worth doing, because every other feature is easier to try with real names in front of you.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Add one client

Clients, then Contacts, then add a contact. Name and email are enough to start; the rest of the record fills in as you work.

  2. 2

    Or import a spreadsheet

The import tool takes a CSV and walks you through matching your columns to Soap Notes fields, so your export from another system does not need reformatting first.

  3. 3

Open a client to see their record

One page carries their profile, notes, bookings, invoices, documents and email history, which is the view you want open during a session.

Client limits on the Starter plan

Starter includes five active clients. That is enough to run the product properly on a real caseload before deciding, and it is a limit on active clients rather than total records, so discharged clients do not count against it.

Questions

Can I group clients together?
Yes. Groups live on a tab of the Contacts page and are useful for families, cohorts or anyone you tend to filter as a set.
